Massage Therapy?
There are many benefits of massage therapy to improve one’s physical health and mental well-being. Massage therapy promotes overall health by focusing on predominantly musculoskeletal issues affecting the body. The benefits of massage therapy can be felt in many ways and on many levels but can include;

- Pain Relief by relieving muscular tension, targeting areas of pain or discomfort reducing inflammation, and relieving chronic pain conditions like back pain, neck pain, and headaches
- Injury Rehabilitation commonly uses massage therapy techniques to restore lost mobility and flexibility around joints, enhance circulation, promote healing and enhance circulation for recovery after strenuous exercise or injury.
- Stress Reduction by relaxing muscles and calming the nervous system, remedial massage helps reduce stress, anxiety, and promotes better sleep quality.
- Enhanced Range of Motion with regular sessions that can increase joint flexibility and range of motion through breaking down scar tissue, reducing muscle stiffness, and enhancing mobility.
- Mental Health Benefits other than the positive physical effects are related to massage therapies ability to induce relaxation, which can reduce symptoms of depression and mental stress and ultimately promoting a more balanced and healthier lifestyle.
Everyone is unique and receives an individualised treatment plan. This may include any or a combination of massage techniques e.g. myofascial release, trigger point therapy, neuromuscular technique, stretching or exercise therapy, and lifestyle modification. Most sporting bodies these days recognise the benefits of massage in the prevention and recuperation from sporting activities. Consequently massage therapists are becoming a fixture of many sporting teams and clubs.
